About Me
Personal
Hi there! I’m Christopher C. Taverna, you can call me Chris if you’d like.
Here’s some info to help to get to know me better:
I am happily married and the father of three adult children. I’ve been married to my amazing wife Karen for 25 years.
Although I was born and raised on Staten Island, NY, I’ve now lived in Western New York for 30 years, so I’m more 716 than 718 these days.
I am neurodivergent and chronically ill.
I enjoy reading, music, gaming, tv, movies, comedy, writing, and storytelling.
Professional (by day I’m an IT Professional and Union Leader)
Information Technology
I have been an Information Technology professional for 29 years, 24 years in higher education at SUNY Fredonia. I am currently the Emerging Technology Specialist in the Academic Technology and Innovation department, a relatively new role for me (about a year). I have been involved in training and development within IT for just about my entire career. I enjoy problem solving and helping people understand technology to better meet their needs.
Labor Union
Labor and worker rights is also a strong passion of mine, and I am currently the President of the Fredonia Chapter of United University Professions, a role I have held since 2019. Serving as the union president has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my career.
Side-Hustles (by night I’m a digital storyteller, writer, speaker, and wellness advocate)
Chronically Chill
I post articles, videos, and podcasts on my Substack. My primary focus is to mix my personal development expertise with my experience living as a chronically ill, neurodivergent person.
I have published some short eBooks on several personal development topics. My intent is to share them at a relatively low price point to make them more accessible. I hope to also share some longer books as well in the future. You can check them all out here.
I have longer personal development eCourses available as well. You can view the catalog here.
I’d also love to speak to your organization or conference attendees. You can read more about my speaking topics here.
Well & Free
I strongly believe in shopping for cleaner, healthier products that are made in the USA. I switched stores years ago and would love the opportunity to share my experience with you.
Let’s Connect
You can find me most on Instagram and Facebook, but all my links can be found here. Or feel free to contact me.
